What is opposite land?
Opposite land is a place where everything we are taught to do to gain control or power or happiness or riches or peace or joy in our lives is the exact OPPOSITE of what we truly need to do to gain control, power, happiness, riches, peace or joy.
*The world: If you want to have control of your life you have to take the control yourself.
*Truth: If you want to gain control of your life you have to give control to God.
* The world: if you want to have power you have to overpower someone else
*Truth: if you want to have power you have to humble yourself as a servant.
*The world: if you want happiness you have to purchase the latest, greatest, whatever they are selling to the people who “look happy” owning it.
*Truth: if you want happiness, count your blessings, do not covet your neighbors goods. God will provide all your needs according to His riches in glory.
*The world: if you want riches, lie, cheat, steal, abandon your family for career goals.
*Truth: if you want riches, be honest, giving, long suffering with others, and content with Gods grace.
*The world: if you want peace, you need, no struggles in life, lots of money to spend on your kids, a maid, a fat retirement plan, and hope that you will live long enough to enjoy it but not to long so as to exhaust it.
*Truth: if you want peace you need to embrace the struggles in life, knowing they bring you closer to The Creator of life, do not despise a “meager” existence, but instead invest your life in serving Gods people according to His will.
*The world: if you want joy you have to, uuummm, I do not know what you have to do.
Truth is, the world doesn’t have a “formula” for joy. The world doesn’t promote joy, or package it in any way. The world has no answer for JOY.
TRUTH DOES. If you want Joy in your life you need to stop listening to the voice of The World, and start listening to the voice of GOD!
You don’t know what His voice sounds like? No problem. You can begin to recognize His voice by recognizing the kinds of things He says. And for that knowledge of God, you need read His Word.
Every day I am faced with two completely opposite worlds. One is run by the clock, dead lines, appointments, business, schedules, responsibilities. Constant ripping at me for attention to something that MUST be done or attended to or I will not have control power happiness riches or peace in my life. BUT the truth is if I do not take at least some time to stop before I start my day and seek God, The Creator and author of my life, then everything I do, including writing this blog, will work against my desire to have true control power happiness riches peace AND joy in my life
“Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.”
“Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.”
“Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth.”
“Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.”
“Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy.”
“Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.”
“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.”
“Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.”
“Blessed are you when others revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account.”
REJOICE and be glad, for your reward is great in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.
Sound like foolishness to you? It did to me also. But then I read this.
1 Corinthians 1:18 New King James Version (NKJV)
18 For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God."
The Word of God pierced my heart and forced me to face the truth in myself. I doubted the sensibility of the TRUTH of The Cross.
Jesus Christ didn’t just die on the cross. He opened the way to God for us. He opened Heaven to us. He opened our eyes to the world and the Truth.
Every day that I spend seeking Truth and praying for God to help me recognize His voice, brings me closer to trusting whole heatedly in the Message of the Cross. And my eyes are opened a little more.
